Liam's Production work

Liam Sheridan is also a producer!  In the past, Sheridan has had a love for robotics and computers and has done a lot of work in the past year learning how to produce music.  After working closely with Danny McMurray in his professional home studio to learn the ins and outs of making a song, he has taken his next project into his own hands.  Sheridan believed that, with hard work, it would be possible to create a song just at home.  During the process of Sheridan creating his debut EP: “Only the Start” Him and Katie Rose, his friend that he met through the Country Music Hall of Fame Camp, started writing music together. Sheridan says that right around the time he announced his Debut EP publicly is when these songs were done and he started the producing process.  After a couple recording sessions with Katie in Sheridan's home, and hours of mixing, the songs were complete and announced to release on June 5th.   Below the songs is a more in depth process from Liam on how he created the music.

A Little More About the Production…

Katie and I started working closely after we met at Camp in Nashville.  We got together for the first time after camp in late July of 2025.  It was our first time doing a Co-Write and there is not really a “correct” way to do it.  We just went for it.  We started out by coming up with two characters that each of us could represent in the song and we started building it out.  That day we started and finished our song “Better in the Rain.”  We both loved the song but had no idea how to get it out there because at the time I had never put music out before. This is also around the time I finished writing all the songs for my own project “Only the Start.”  We decided to put it on hold because we were both working on individual projects. Later we got together again and wrote “Running Back to You” and it was by far our favorite.  We never intended for the two songs to connect, but Katie noticed it when she was in Nashville listening to the original first recordings of the songs.  Katie gave me a call on that same trip to Nashville over winter break and came up with the idea to merge the two songs into an EP we just needed to write the start of the story.  When winter break was done we both got together quick to write the beginning song “I Can Be Your Home” We now knew all the songs were done and we took a break while both of us were releasing our own EPs.  In April, the day after my EP released (April 26th), she came over to record her final vocals on each song.  It always makes me laugh when I think back to that day because of how we made such a DIY setup.  We hung blankets from the ceiling in my basement in order to get the best possible acoustics and set up the microphone.  After that day it was go time for all the songs.  I played and mixed every instrument in all the songs.  After much back and forth we decided the songs were ready to go onto the final step of all songs which is professional mastering.  I sent these off to an awesome professional mastering engineer named Brian Schwab who mastered all of my songs for “Only the Start.”  I wanted to write all of this to show anyone who might be interested in making music that it is possible to do it without all the fancy equipment found in professional studios.  It is a lot about working and learning how to do it yourself.  A lot of these songs take a long time to get just right.  Katie and I refined each mix about 18 times for every song on this EP.
